The World Forum on Shooting Activities held its annual meeting in Nuremberg, Germany, on March 1st, 2023. The event was held in conjunction with IWA 2023, the International Trade Fair for Hunting and Sport Shooting. The location is the Nuremberg Messe (Convention Centre OST – levels 2 and 3).

Proceedings started with a luncheon at 12:00 noon, in room St. Petersburg and Foyer (level 2),  followed by a speech by the Keynote Speaker Ms. Danene Van Der Westhuyzen (Namibia) – Professional hunter, past president of the Namibian Professional Hunting Association (NAPHA).

The main program followed, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM in room Shanghai (level 3) with a video statement by the recipient of the WFSA Vito Genco Shooting Ambassador Award Mr. Steven Rinella – Outdoorsman, conservationist, writer, and founder of MeatEater. Panel discussions were then held on:

  1. The Growing Challenges of Interstate Transportation of Firearms and Ammunition

  2. Presentation of the WFSA/ARCADIS study
    Speaker: David Scallan – FACE
  3. Update on the lead situation in Europe
    Speakers: Thierry Jacobs – AFEMS, Graham Downing – WFSA/BSSC

    Speaker: James Baranowski – WFSA Executive Secretary US

At the end of each intervention, an open discussion/Q&A session with the audience took place, followed by the call-to-action speech by Mr. Mauro Silvis (WFSA Executive Secretary Europe).
